Betty Ann Lynch, 85, of Patoka, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton, after fighting ovarian cancer for eight years. 

 

She was born February 23, 1927 in Francisco to George and Tillie (Kruse) Burns.

 

She has lived in Patoka since 1947 coming from Francisco. 

 

Betty was a homemaker and worked along side her husband and children on their family farm. She loved playing cards, cooking and canning. She especially enjoyed preparing weekly Sunday dinners for her family, where she always made sure she cooked their favorites. She was a member of the Patoka OES for over 50 years, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary and the Halsey and Euchre card clubs. 

 

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Iris Dewus (Howard Petri) of Princeton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Lynch (Debbie) of Patoka and Randy Lynch (Tammy) of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; grandchildren, Adam Dewus (Mel), Matthew Dewus (Stephanie), Stephanie Bohanon (Tony) and Shelly Frey (Doug); great grandchildren, Austin Dewus, Emma Bohanon, Cameron and Gabrielle Frey; sister, Wilma Ikerd of Indianapolis; sisters-in-law, Louise Burns, Mary Lois Burns, Marie Burns, Frances Burns, and Frances Tody Hartwell; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luther Lynch in 1996; son-in-law, Walter Dewus in 1996; eight brothers, John, Fred, Charles, Harold, Kenneth, Glenn, Gene  and Edd Burns; and three sisters, Marie Bilderback, Ruth Gaston in May 2012 and Margie Sloan in July 2012.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday at Colvin Funeral Home.
