Josephine A. McRoberts, 94, of Princeton passed away Friday, August 17, 2012, at Gibson General Hospital.

 

She was oldest of a family of seven children, born Sept. 29, 1917 in Washington.

 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washington. She and her husband had resided in Princeton since 1942.  She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.  After retiring, she and her husband spent many winters in Texas, enjoying new friendships and activities. They both loved family dinners and fish fries with their children, grandchildren, and many friends and family members. 

 

Josephine is survived by her two sisters, Virginia Sessions of Jay, Florida and Carley Leonard of Washington; two daughters, Janet Timberlake of Evansville and Delores Harrington and her husband Jack of Owensville; and a son, Jim McRoberts and his wife Bette of Princeton; and a total of 27 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Barney McRoberts; her parents, Merle and Edith McLemore; brothers, Leroy and Arthur McLemore; sisters, Phyllis McLemore and Marguerite Fox.

 

Colvin Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for a graveside service at Shiloh Cemetery north of Princeton on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at 11 a.m.

 

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
