Deborah Jane Miller, 61, of Mitchell, died Wednesday, Aug. 8.

She was born April 7, 1951, in Lawrence County, daughter of Mary Ruth (Taylor) and Labon Kern, Jr. 

She married Samuel Joseph Miller July 1, 1972 in Bedford, and he survives.

She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1969, and attended Oakland City University. She was a secretary at Shelby Trucking.  She was of Protestant Faith.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Samuel Andy (Shelly) Miller of Orleans,  and Jason Earl (Kristi) Miller of Mitchell; four grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Kim) Kern of Bedford, and Joe (Melissa) Kern of Mitchell; three sisters, Melinda Lynn (Rick) Mosier of Mitchell, Cindy Bowers (Ronnie Terry) of Mitchell, and Amanda D. (James) Gross of Mt. Vernon; and many relatives in Lawrence and Gibson Counties.

Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 13, at 10  a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Tom Bostic officiating.  Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
