ILLIOPOLIS, Ill. — Kay Colleen Griffin, 69, of Illiopolis Ill., died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill..

 

She was born Dec. 13, 1942 in Decatur, Ill. to Ivel and Elva Lena Collins, who preceded her in death.

 

She married Robert L. Griffin on Aug. 10, 1969 and he survives.

 

Also surviving are two daughters, Michelle (Brent) Moore of Illiopolis, Ill. and Kimberly Griffin of Riverton, Ill.; three brothers: Ronnie (Norma) Collins of Herrick, Ill., Larry (Janice) Collins of Herrick, Ill. and Jerry (Wendy) Collins of Jessup, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Kay graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School in 1960. In her early years, she worked as a beautician in Decatur, Ill. and later was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. She was a former resident of Riverton, Ill. and Princeton. Kay was a member of the Buffalo Christian Church. She was a dedicated fan of Illini basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at the Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis, Ill.. Reverend Chris McAfee will be officiating with burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
