Stephen Hopkins, 60, of Newburgh entered rest on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at his home.

 

He was born on March 16, 1952 in Princeton to James “Chig” & Dorothy (Farney) Hopkins.

 

Stephen had worked as welder at Old Ben Coal and was presently employed at Alcoa Warrick Operations in maintenance department for several years.

Was a member of U.M.W.A. and United Steelworkers Of American Union Local District # 7.

 

He was preceded in death by father James “Chig” Hopkins.

 

Surviving daughter: Andrea Hopkins of Oakland City.

Grandchildren: Justice and Austin Wilkerson and Brynan Hopkins.

Mother: Dorothy ( Farney) Hopkins of Francisco.

Brother: Dennis (Cindy) Hopkins of Francisco.

Sister: Laura Thomas of Francisco, Diane (Steve) Kiesel of Sumter, S.C. and several nieces and nephews

 

Funeral services will be Sunday Sept. 30, 2012 6 p.m. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel

 

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until services on Sunday.  Burial will be at later date in Forsythe Cemetery.
