Patricia (Patty) Crawford Marquez, 69, passed away on, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center, in Evansville.

 

She was born on Oct. 31, 1942 in New Haven Conn. the daughter of Vaughn Emerson and Mary Julia (Chumbler) Crawford.

 

She is survived by her husband, of 46 years, Donald of Patoka; son, Lawrence E. and his wife, Jane Marquez of Collierville, Tenn.; daughter, L. Lynn and her husband, Todd Poole of Lancaster, Pa.; sister Linda J. DeFrancesco and her husband, Anthony of Bondville, Vt..; three granddaughters, Emily and Kendall Marquez and Emily Poole; as well as five nieces and a nephew.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Patty was a devoted Christian and attended the Patoka United Methodist Church. She retired as a school psychologist from the North and South Knox School Corporations. She was an avid gardener and possessed a passion for travel. Since her retirement she had traveled extensively both within the United States and abroad. She visited most of western and northern Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Peru as well as all 50 of the US states. She loved to plan and organize the many trips she took, and generally traveled independently from group tours, preferring to travel with family and close friends. Her passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of many.

 

Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Daniel Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Owensville.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 4:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
