Ruth Minnis, 99, formerly of Oakland City, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at The Waters of Princeton.

She was born January 10, 1913 to Ross and Mary Lucinda (Wise) Foley.

Ruth loved antiques and owned & operated her own shop for many years. She also enjoyed painting. Several of her paintings were displayed in her room at The Waters, where she resided for the past 10 years. Other paintings are treasured keepsakes in the homes of family members. 

She is survived by her devoted son, James (Sandy) Minnis; grandson, Jeff Minnis; great grandson, Kevin (Heather) Minnis; great-great granddaughter, Alexa Marie Minnis all of Princeton; sister, Bea (Lawrence) Owens of Evansville; and many special nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bluford Minnis in 1973; sisters, Florence Briles and Jewel Mayes; and brother, James Foley. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday September 8, 2012 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Larry Meadows officiating. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM on Friday at Colvin Funeral Home.
