Jerry W. Cox, 60, of Francisco passed away on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at his home after an extended illness.

 

He was born on Feb. 15, 1952 in Carmi, Ill. to A.B. and Doris (McGhee) Cox Jr. 

 

He attended the Francisco General Baptist Church. He worked in oilfield construction most of his life. He also owned and operated Humminbird Oil Company and Cox’s Well Service. He loved fishing, motorcycles, caring for stray animals and spending time with his family. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Deanna Cox of Francisco; two step-sons, Todd Tooley of Gibson County and Johnnie Tooley of Burbank, Ca; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Kaley Tooley; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Kaprice; two brothers, William R. (Linda) Cox of Princeton and Stephen B. Cox of Dawson Springs, Ky.; two sisters, Vicky L. (Charles) Alsip of Evansville and Patty S. Richey of Owensboro, Ky.; several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cindy L. Cox; and a brother, Thomas J. Cox. 

 

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton

 

Visitation will be from 1 until 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
