Dale E. Vaught, 85, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

 

He was born November 20, 1926 in Summitt County, Ohio the son of Loren Dale Vaught and Mable Mariah (Schofield) Vaught Appel.

 

Dale was a graduate of the class of 1945 Owensville High School and served in the United States Navy. He retired after 35 years from Bucyrus-Erie as an expeditor. His memberships included First Baptist Church of Elberfeld where he was song leader and the VFW post #1114.

 

Survivors include his daughters, Marcia K. Acker, Marla G. (Martin) Dorris and Denise A. (Mike) Franks; son, Douglas D. (Nancy) Vaught; step-children, Rebecca P. Lyle, Bernard E. (Faye) Powell and John F. (Marrie) Powell; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom and Peter Vaught.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ida Frances in 2005; sister, Marilyn J. Newcome; brother, Richard E. Vaught and two grandchildren, Shannon and Eric Acker.

 

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville the Rev. David Schulz will officiate. Burial will be in the Owensville cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by the American Legion Post # 51.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
