Gary W. Powers, 57 of Princeton passed away Sunday Nov. 25, 2012 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He has lived in Princeton his entire life.

 

He was born Sept. 26, 1955 to Jesse and Johnetta (Burns) Powers. 

 

Gary was Vice President of Holzmeyer Die and Mold in Princeton. He was also the owner of Powers Ground Services. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton. He served on the Advisory Committee for P.C.H.S. Machine Trades Dept.  He was a loving husband and father and he loved his grandchildren, which were his greatest accomplishments.

 

He is survived by his wife Margaret “Pudge” Powers of Princeton; mother Johnetta Powers of Princeton, 4 children, Benjamin Powers (Celia Burton) of Princeton; Jessica Gaukel (Chris) of Pensacola, FL; Cory Powers (Meghan) of Princeton; Krista Coleman (Clint) of Mt. Olympus, sister Mary Jane Stoll (Tony) of Princeton, 16 grandchildren, Hunter, Audrie, Luke and Gracie Ann Powers, Alexis, Jonah, Kai and Kayla Gaukel, Gracelynn, Faith, Eli, Halle and Lena Powers, Jax, Quin, and Knox Coleman, special friends and business associates, Al and Mona Holzmeyer of Princeton and  his special canine companion, Hope.

 

He was preceded in death by his father Jesse Powers in 2002 and a grandson Jacob Powers in 2004.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Friday Nov. 30, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Princeton with Fr. Ronald Zgunda as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Princeton

 

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 PM at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM on Thursday.
