Maude Ayers, 95, of Princeton passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville.

 

She was born Oct. 29, 1917 in Gibson County to Rosaland and Nellie Miller.

 

She was the owner/operator of Maude’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge Auxiliaries, Lifetime in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, The Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Lea (Robert) Ashby of Princeton; two grandchildren, Kristina M. Collins and Tyler J. Ashby; a great granddaughter, Natalie Collins; and a sister, Jean Cooper of Princeton.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold D. “Dud” Ayers; sisters, Wilma Phillips, Laura Hills and Hester Miller; brothers, Allen, Elsie, “Bach” and Bill Miller.

 

Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Francisco, with Chaplain Genevieve McGuire officiating. Burial will follow. 

 

Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
