Gary L. Miller, 52, of The Villages, FL passed away at 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 at Promise Hospital in Oxford, FL.

 

He was born in Oakland City, IN on March 1, 1960 to Herbert and Helen (Short) Miller and was one of thirteen siblings. 

Gary graduated from Pike Central H.S. in 1978 and received degrees from Vincennes University and Indiana State University. He was employed by Siemens Energy and Automation for 21 years as an Electrical Engineer and worked in several locations throughout the US and the Caribbean

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack Miller (Becky) of Valparaiso, IN and his twin brother, Terry Miller of Oatsville, IN. 

Surviving are seven brothers and three sisters, Betty McDonald (Mac) of The Villages, FL; Carolyn Weathers (John) of Holden Beach, NC; Charles Miller (Judy) of Princeton, IN; James Miller (Jane) of Owensboro, KY; Beverly Riley (George) of Mackey, IN; Robert Miller of Oatsville, IN; Gene Miller (Barbara) of Oatsville, IN; John Miller (Ingrid) of Charlotte, NC; Dan Miller (Sabrina) of Oatsville, IN, Jerry Miller (Cathy) of Mason City, IA, and honorary brother Keith Webb of Jacksonville, FL. 

Gary was severely injured in a bicycle accident in 2008 but continued to enjoy life and appreciated every day as a gift. He will be missed by family and friends who include 16 nephews, 13 nieces and numerous cousins and untold friends. 

He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors and the warm
Florida climate, but his passion was spending time with his family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in
Oakland City, IN on Friday, December 21 at 2 p.m. CST.

 

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Atkinson Chapel Cemetery in Oatsville
