Eleanor Lois Bye, 92, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center.

 

She was born in Milltown on Sept. 2, 1920, to the late Cort and Josie Bye.

 

She moved to Princeton at the age of five. Eleanor worked for many years at Gibson General Hospital and was a life member of, and active in, the VFW Post 1147 Women’s Auxiliary as well as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge.  

 

Eleanor was preceded in death by sons, James R. Coon and Dennis Coon.  In her passing, she will be joining her sister and dearest friend, Frances Bye, who died June 2012.

 

She is survived by three children, Audrey Lynn Cates, Myra Frazel and Don Coon; five grandchildren, Teresa Timmons, Curtis Kelley, Adam Kelley, Miriam Kondelik and Bobby Coon; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Good Samaritan Home, 601 North Boeke Road, Evansville, officiated by Rev. Mary Hurley.
