Rose M. Reed, 85, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. 

 

She was born in Tell City on Oct. 9, 1927 to Jess and Edith (Graves) Dauby.

 

Rose was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. She served as first president of Tri Kappa and was member of the associate chapter. She was an advocate for children and adults with special needs and was instrumental in starting S.I.R.S. She enjoyed traveling.

 

Surviving is her husband of 66 years, Ralph Reed of Tell City; children, Candy (Dean) Boerste of Tell City, Sheila (John) Austin of Fort Branch, Sam Reed of Tell City, Pam (Pete) Franzman of Tell City and Tim (Debbie) Reed of Tell City; sisters, Hazel Tempel of Princeton and Jessie Scott of Tell City; grandchildren, Ryan Austin, Carrie Merrill, Jarrad Austin, Eric Franzman, Brad Franzman, Cassie Yost, Ian, Hana, Eli and Elliot Reed and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Preceding her in death are her parents, Edith and Jess Dauby and brothers, Hubert, Ralph (Otts) and John Dauby.

 

Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church.  Father Dennis Duvelius will officiate.  Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery

 

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 18th from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
