Mable M (Madden) Riester, 86, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 in Phoenix, Ariz.

 

She was born July 18, 1926 in Washington to Carl and Ruth Madden. She lived much of her life in Oakland City, but had resided in Arizona for the past several years.

 

She was a loving mom, grandma and homemaker.  She attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oakland City and was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Oakland City.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Hoover of Newburgh; four sons, Wayne (Sharon) Riester and Richard II (Ruth) Riester both of Phoenix Ariz., Carl Riester of Terre Haute and David (Darla) Riester of Arthur; 10 grandchildren, Kim Santi, Amy Welp, Stacy O’Neal, Matthew Riester, Melissa Gilmore, Amanda McNiel, Jetermy Riester, Joey Riester, Clifford Riester and Sean Riester; and 14 great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Richard L. Riester, who died January 20, 1999; two sisters, Roberta Neighbors and Carolyn Zerkle; and a daughter-in-law, Margorie Riester.

 

A memorial service will be held in Phoenix, Ariz. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 5, 2013 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Dr. Douglas Low officiating. Burial will be next day at the Blackfoot Cemetery in Pike County, IN. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
