William F. (Red) Richardson, 92, of Fort Branch, IN, passed on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Woodland Nursing Home in Newburgh, IN. 

 

He was born on Sept. 7, 1920 to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Martz) Richardson, in Vincennes, IN.

    

Red was retired from the C&EI Railroad.  He was a WW II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, where he was a P.O.W. in Germany, a Member and Past Post Commander of VFW Post #2714, and a member of the Haubstadt American Legion Post #194.  Red was also a member of the St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch, IN.

     

Besides his parents, Red is also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred R. Richardson who passed away on Mar. 9, 2008.

    

He is survived by 2 sons, Steve (Becky) Richardson of Newburgh, IN, Michael Richardson of Antioch, CA, 4 grandchildren, Jason and Adam Richardson, Cari Schlunt, and Jill Koch, 2 brothers and 1 sister, Frank Richardson of Vincennes, IN, Harold Richardson of Indianapolis, IN, and Catherine Swayze of Mitchel.  He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

    

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. CST/ 2:00 P.M. EST at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, IN, Pastor John Huemann will officiate, Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #2714 and American Legion Post #194 at the graveside. 

 

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN.
