Bill “Castro” Chapman, Sr., 78, of Patoka, Indiana passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

 

He was born Feb. 15, 1934 in Gibson County to James D. and Goldie (Pickett) Chapman.

 

He had lived in Patoka for the past 55 years, was a retired farm hand, loved fishing, playing church league softball and was very proud of the number of grandchildren and great grandchildren he had.

 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta (Mounts) Chapman; four children:  Peggy Simpson of Patoka, Billy (Jill) Chapman of Princeton, Teddy Albert (Brenda) Chapman of Patoka and Tina (Allen) Robb of Patoka; brother Bobby Joe (Alice) Chapman of Garden City, Minn., three sisters:  Gloria Ann Bell of Laurens, Iowa, Agnes Jane Coomer of Princeton and Betty Jean Mounts of Crystal River, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law:  Faye Chapman of Clintonville, W.V., Judy Chapman of Brentwood, Tenn. and Pat Chapman of Dysart, Iowa.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie Lou Chapman, four brothers:  Jerry Don Chapman, James Chapman, Jr., John Earl Chapman, Samuel Lee Chapman and daughter Debbie Brown. 

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Greg Morrison. Burial will be at the Columbia White Church Cemetery

 

Visitation will be from 9 until the service on Monday at Colvin Funeral Home.
