Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Clemens, 77, of 440 Zachary Drive, Vincennes, passed away at 1 a.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence. 

 

He was born September 22, 1935 in Princeton to J. Pool and Dorothy Mae (Lawrence) Clemens.

 

Larry retired from teaching in 1999. He first started teaching at Franklin Elementary and then moved to Clark Middle School where he finished his career. He also taught at Vincennes University.

His memberships included the
Upper Indiana Church, Masonic Lodge in Princeton, where he was a 50-plus year member, the American Legion and the Indiana State Teachers Association. Larry served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed going to yard sales.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl (Manning) Clemens, who he married Oct. 1, 1994; his children, Sean Knabel and his wife, Monica, of Freelandville, Brittany Livermore and her husband, Matthew, of Vincennes, Robert Clemens and his wife, Natalie, of New Baden, Ill., Lisa Hughes and her husband, Danny, of Martinsville, and Laura Eads and her husband, Mike, of Patoka; his grandchildren, Olivia Knabel, Eden Livermore, Joshua and Christopher Clemens, Leah Wickered and Cory Eads; along with a cousin, Carolyn Butts of Princeton; and several other cousins.

A memorial service will be at
11 a.m. Saturday at Upper Indiana Presbyterian Church, 2345 N. Old Bruceville Road, with the Rev. Alan Finnan officiating.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.   Funeral handled by Goodwin Family Funeral Home in Vincennes, IN.
