Mary M. Whittington, 84, passed away Sunday, Mar. 24, 2013 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

 

She was born Jan. 13, 1929 in Giro to Charles H. and Mildred M. (Decker) Whittington. 

She resided in this area most of her lifetime. She had worked at the former Emerson Cafeteria, Hansen Mfg. Co. for nine years and U. S. Rubber for two years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton and the V.F.W. Post 1147 Ladies Auxiliary.

 

Mary is survived by two grandchildren, Whitney Archer and Adam Trockman both of Princeton; two great grandchildren, Addison and Hadlee Archer; a brother, Leon (Alice) Whittington of Wheeling; a sister-in-law, Betty Whittington of Conroe, Texas; several nieces and nephews; former fiancé of her daughter Pam, Steve Bottoms of Somerville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Floyd, Marlin and Fred Whittington; and her daughter, Pam Trockman.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 27, 2013 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Olympus.

 

Visitation will be from noon until the service hour on Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
