Wanda Eileen (Carpenter) Barr, 87, of passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at The Waters in Princeton.

 

She was born Jan. 22, 1926 in Decatur, Ill. to John and Florence (Russell) Carpenter.

 

Wanda married Warren James Barr on June 22, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1997.

 

Wanda retired from Hansens after 12 years and then worked at the school cafeteria. She was a 74 year member of First Baptist Church in Princeton. She was also a 50 year member of Golden Fleece Chapter of Eastern Star. 

 

She is survived by her children, Glenna (Ted) Waldroup, Nina (Ron) Faass, Nancy (Mike) Foley, Stanley (Mary) Barr, Wanda (Denzil) Meredith, Rick (Frances) Barr, Connie (Leonard) Hensley, Dennis (Kathy) Barr, Lori (Jim) Blackard; 21 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Joyce McClane, Janet Keil and Phyllis Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul and John D. Carpenter; sister, Barbara Thomas; four grandsons; one great grandson and one great granddaughter. 

 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
