Eddie James “Dugan” Morgan, 72, of Mount Carmel, Ill. passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

 

He was born February 21, 1941 in Wabash County, Illinois the son of Rachel “Possie” Morgan. 

 

He married Bernita “Mrs. B” on Dec. 30, 1987 and she survives.

 

Ed was a hard worker.  He retired from Snap-On Tools in 1999 from the polish, salvage, plating departments with 35 years of service. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow shooting, running dogs, and mushroom hunting. He was president of the Wabash County Bow Hunters Club for 3 years. He was awarded many trophies for the Berryville Fox Hunt and many bow competitions.  Ed was proud of his hunting accomplishments, shooting 38 deer.  He also enjoyed going on long afternoon drives in the country with Mrs. B and his dogs.

 

Ed is survived by his loving wife; six children, Mike (Tabitha) Morgan of Bellmont, Ill., Lisa (Ron) Fannin of Keensburg, Ill., Jamie Morgan of Princeton, Shawn (Brandy) Keele, Twila (Billy) Keele, and Candi (Matt) Kissel all of Mount Carmel, Ill. He had 17 grandkids; three great-grandkids; one very special aunt, Minnie Shain; several cousins; and three loving dogs, Jack, Bobby, and Molly.

 

He is preceded in death by his mother; uncle, Pete Shain; and aunts, Helen Hayes, Annie Eads, and Pauleen Anderson.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home with burial following the service at Bethel Cemetery.
