James F. “Jim” Buckman, 75 of Princeton, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

 

He was born Aug. 24, 1937 in Lebanon, Ky. and had lived in the Princeton area since 1977, coming from the Louisville, Ky. area.

 

Jim was retired from Public Service Indiana and had served in the National Guard and Reserve. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton.

 

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Kerry) Wilhite of Francisco; a son, Anthony “Tony” Buckman of Hebron; a grandson, Anthony “Joe” Buckman; two granddaughters, Kira B. (Justin) Morgan and Keely D. Wilhite and her fiancé (Lincoln Edwards); a great grandson, Raylan Dale Morgan; five brothers, John Buckman of Jeffersonville, Mike Buckman of South Dakota, James Patrick Buckman of Nevada, Frank Buckman of Clarksville, and Steve Buckman of Illinois; four sisters, Joetta Johnson of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Agnes Ann Sloan, Susan Prater and Mary Margaret Aeilts all of California; a brother-in-law, “Hoot” Gibson of Tennessee; 3 sisters-in-law, Virlee Schuch of Jasper, Ruth Vines of Hebron and Linda Schuch of Austin, Texas.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Clara (Bickett) Buckman; an infant sister; three brothers, Charles, Tom and Joe Buckman; a sister, Mary Edna Buckman; and his wife, Mildred A. (Schuch) Buckman in 2008.

 

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Father Ronald Zgunda officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery near Francisco.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
