Margie M. Gibbs, 89, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.

 

She was born February 26, 1924 in Princeton to W. J. and Jessie McIntosh.

 

Margie had resided in Princeton since 1948 coming back from Missouri. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Princeton, the Live Wire Sunday School Class and a former member of the church choir for many years. 

Margie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Oscar R. Gibbs of Princeton, they were married July 29th 1944 in Malden, Missouri; a son, Dennis (Bobbie) Gibbs of Evansville; 2 daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Morrison and JoAnn (Stan) Foley both of Princeton; 6 grandchildren, Aaron (Debbie) Gibbs, Alan Gibbs, Anthony (Susan) Gibbs, Chris-Michael G. (Amanda) Morrison, Jason (Jennifer) Foley and Amanda (Jason) Hunsucker; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bonnie McBroom and Ramona Whitaker both of Princeton; a cousin, Pete James of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; her best friend, Del Mowrer of Princeton; her caregiver, Linda Wright of Princeton and also 20 nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Frederick and a daughter, Terri Lynn Gibbs. 

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at First General Baptist Church in Princeton, with Rev. Jack Eberhardt and Pastor Brad Keenan officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is assisting the family.
