Mary E. Kunkel, 91, of Patoka passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton.

 

She was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Patoka to Ray and Emma (Williams) Spain.

 

Mary had lived all of her lifetime in Patoka. She retired after 37 years from Potter & Brumfield and then worked as a greeter at Walmart for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton. She always enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Mary is survived by her daughter Michele Bishop of Patoka; son-in-law Jim Robb of Dale; four grandchildren, Cindy Minnis of Princeton, Brad (Carrie) Robb of Mount Vernon, Monica (Chris) Bryant of Fort Branch, and Sandra Bishop of Patoka; eight great-grandchildren, Hanna, Owen, and Riley Bryant, Aaron, Keenan, and McKenzi Minnis, Zachary and Isabel Robb.    

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Betty Robb in 2012, son-in-law Jackie Bishop in 2011, brother Willard Spain and a sister-in-law Velma Spain.

 

Funeral services will be held at the graveside 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, with Pastor Jeff Pinney officiating. Friends will meet at the cemetery.
