Roger F. Mayer, 82, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away on May 25, 2013 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN. 

 

He was born to the late Herbert J. and Rosetta (Brenner) Mayer on Jan. 3, 1931 in Fort Branch, IN.

  

Roger was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus.  He was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the U.S. Airforce and was a member of the Haubstadt American Legion Post # 194.

  

Besides his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann (TenBarge) Mayer who passed away on Oct. 17, 2007, a grandson Jeremy Mayer, and a brother, Leland (Ennie) Mayer.

  

He is survived by 3 children, Scott (Jenny) Mayer, Bret (Karen) Mayer both of Haubstadt, IN, and Kenton (Lucinda) Mayer of Fort Branch, IN, four sisters, Laura Hanold of Fort Branch, IN, Arlene Summer of Marion, KY, Dorothy Abernathy of LaGrange, KY, and Myra Scott of Columbus, IN, 5 grandchildren, Amanda Adkins, Jason, Kara, Damon, and Hanna Mayer, 1 step-grandchild, Sheli Delaney, and 2 great grandchildren, Martin James and Cooper Edward Adkins.

  

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wed. May 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, Fathers Tony Ernst and Brian Emmick, Co-celebrants.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

 

Visitation will be on Tues. May 28, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Wed.  A Rosary will be recited by the church parish on Tues. evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.  Military services will be conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Post # 194 and the VFW Post #2714.
