Darrell E. Benton, 54, formerly of Somerville, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. 

He was born May 14, 1959 in Princeton. 

He is survived by his wife, Debra Benton of Vincennes; seven children, Jason Wildt of Oakland City, Amanda McCrary Forrest of Georgia, Zeplyn Keller, April Benton Earley and Debra E. Benton all of Wheatland, Benjamin Dillon and Matthew Benton of Vincennes; three grandchildren; four siblings, Lois Ann Hunter of Florida, Patricia of Oakland City, Gary Ray Bolin of Washington and Mary Ann Barrett of Winslow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Wilson Benton and Mary Aileen (Schmett) Benton and also a sister, Debra Elaine Farries.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Brent Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the service time Monday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
