Shirley J. (Brown) York, 67, of Haubstadt, formerly of Owensville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

She was born in Gibson County on July 5, 1946, the daughter of Lester and Mary Ruth (Wilson) Brown.

Shirley was a bookkeeper for Elliot's Steak House and had been Town Clerk for Owensville.

She married David L. York on October 7, 1961.

Survivors include her husband, David; sons, Larry (Kristy) and Bryan (Mary) York; eight grandchildren; brother, Duane (Sandra) Brown; sister, Judy (Don) Andrew; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gary Brown.

Honoring Shirley's wishes there will be no services. Holders Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
