Helen F. Cundiff, 100, passed away Friday Aug. 23, 2013 at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born Aug. 20, 1913 in Johnson to Jeff and Merle (Riddle) Higginbotham.

She retired from Emge Packing Co. in Fort Branch, after 32 years working as a bacon slicer. She had lived in Princeton most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Deffendall of Petersburg; two grandchildren, Nick and Lynn Deffendall of Princeton and Mick Deffendall of Petersburg, five great grandchildren, Jamie Cutsinger, Asa, Jackson and Sara Deffendall and Joann Livermore, four great-great grandchildren, Ethan, Carsten, Delaney and Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfonso Cundiff in Dec. 1998, son Bob Deffendall, grandson, Rick Deffendall, sister, Anna Mae Mauck and brother, Herdis Higginbotham.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be from noon until service time on Monday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
