Herschel W. Taylor, 96, beloved husband and father, of Indianapolis, passed away August 4, 2013.

He was born March 1, 1917, in Princeton, IN to the late Samuel Clifton and Lenora B. (Hansen) Taylor.

Herschel was a member of the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge 723, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, and a member and past Worthy Patron of OES Chapter 505. He was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his son, Bill (Dee) Taylor; daughters, Judy Riley and Duffy (David) McKinney; sister, Frances McCracken; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Herschel was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Rogers Taylor.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
