Frederick “John” Miller, 61 passed Thursday Nov. 14, 2013 at his home in Somerville.

He had worked at P.I.C., Inc., SMC and Styline.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Anne Paul and his step-father, David Eugene Paul who were from Charlevoix, Michigan.

He was born in Charleviox, May 1, 1952 where he was known as Jack.

He was as playful and mischievous as he was gentle and loving. As a child he loved with all his heart, those closest to him never misplaced a smile.

This delightful boy grew into a wonderful man that served his country in the U.S. Army and during his enlistment met, Sharon “Sue” O’Neal, who was also serving her country. On day one, he talked her into a date and on day 30 he changed her name. They have been married 30 years.

John was the kindest, gentlest and sweetest father to his only daughter, Julie Ann and his son-in-law Zachary Hudson. He also has a brother Bill Duplessis. No matter what came up he found a way to help, advise or just laugh.

John had a heart of gold and no one knew this as much as his 3 grandchildren, Darik, Zaiden and Austyn. He loved all of us more than anyone else possibly could have; he was our greatest ally and our ultimate champion. We will always miss you and hold you in our hearts. You left us too soon.

Funeral services were held at the graveside, Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Somerville Cemetery in Somerville, IN, with Rev. Larry Meadows officiating. Burial followed the services.

There was no visitation. Military services were provided by Oakland City American Legion Post 256. Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City handled the arrangements.
