Genevia “Joan” Schumacher, 80, of Mackey, Indiana passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born March 15, 1933 in Patoka to Austin and Ona (Marvel) Jones.

She was a member of the Mackey Church of the Nazarene. She was a LPN for 10 years and then did private nursing for many years. She was a member of the Oakland City American Legion Aux. Post#256, Southern Indiana Doll Club, Gibson Girls Doll Club and a former member of the Tri-State Wood Carvers. 

She is survived by her 3 children, Robert (Karen) Schumacher, Terry (Christy) Schumacher and David Schumacher all of Mackey; 3 grandchildren, Misty (Joel) Georges of Lynnville, Robert Austin of Melbourne, FL and Dawn Michelle (Cody) Stroud of Monroe City, IN; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and a brother, Donald Wayne Jones of Princeton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Norman Schumacher in 1994. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Saturday March 1, 2014 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Bill Reed officiating. Burial will be at the Townsley Cemetery in Mackey.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm on Friday and from 10 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
