Mary E. Lefler, 91, of Fort Branch, IN passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN. 

She was born to the late William H. and Mary Elizabeth (Obert) Lefler, on Feb. 3, 1923 in Francisco, IN

She was a lifelong member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run, IN.  She was a member of the St Anne’s Altar Society, and of The St. Bernadette’s Women’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John.  She was a Religious Education teacher for 25 years and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.  Mary was a bookkeeper and had worked at Emge’s and at Holiday Inn.  She loved to travel, and had visited Rome, Fatima, Lourdes, and Medjugorge.  She also enjoyed working in her garden and flowers and being outdoors.

Besides her parents Mary is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Father John Lefler in 2011, Richard Lefler in 2002, and Joseph Lefler in 1933.  She was also preceded by her nephew Richard Jude Hall in 1995 and her great-nephew Jason Dean Hall in 1996.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Pat Hall of Snake Run, IN, and Dorothy Morgan of Highlands Ranch, CO.  She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, 21 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 18 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.  She will always be remembered as their beloved Aunt Mary.  She loved her nieces and nephews and loved entertaining them.  She especially enjoyed Birthday Parties and having the Easter Egg Hunt.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run, IN at 11:00 AM with Fathers Bernard Lutz, Joseph Ziliak, and Tony Ernst as co-celebrants.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:45 AM.
