Robert G. Luttrell, Sr., 78, of Patoka passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

He was born Oct. 23, 1935 in Princeton to Horace and Dorothy (Summers) Luttrell.

He served in the United States Navy for 21 years. He worked in the automotive industry for 36 years at Dauby, Sharrett and Patriot Motors. He recently retired from serving on the Patoka Town Board. He was a former member of the American Legion where he was a past commander. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time there with his sons.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years on May 6, Helen (Williams) Luttrell of Patoka; six children, Donna (Robert) Wilhite of Princeton, Albert (Grace) Luttrell of Patoka, Robert Jr. (Marsha) Luttrell of Princeton, Larry (Heather) Luttrell of Patoka, Garry Luttrell of Princeton and Michael G. (Karen) Luttrell of Patoka; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two on the way; three sisters, Phyllis Hensley of Princeton, Diann Dewus of Owensboro, Kentucky, Isa Walden of Princeton; a brother, Joe Luttrell of Evansville; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Luttrell and Dorothy Baggerly, his first wife Margie (Rushing) Luttrell in 1966, and two brothers, Michael and Kelly Luttrell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Jeff Pinney. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be by retired military veterans.
