Laura Jeanette Johnson, 84, of Oakland City, entered into rest Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

She was born Aug. 31, 1929 in Spurgeon, to Howard and Mildred (Barnett) Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Howard “Sonny” Butler.

Surviving are daughters Sheridan (Larry) Park of Brooksville, Florida, Kimberly (Ron) Schuster of Evansville, Melinda (Terry) Schlottman of Oakland City, Melissa Willis of Buckskin; sons Kevin (Debbie) Johnson of Bloomfield, Marc (Sharri) Johnson of Oakland City, Michael (Tonia) Johnson of Winslow; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Donny Bob (Joyce) Butler of Stendal, and David (Dottie) Butler of Georgia; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 10 a.m. at Oakland City Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Darin D. Nossett officiating. Final resting place will be in Spurgeon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel and from until 8 a.m. until services at church.
