John Robert “Bob” Hart, 86, of Princeton passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

He was born on September 28, 1927 in Princeton, IN to Norman E. & Vivian P. (McElderry) Hart.

He was a United States Army Lieutenant/Colonel retiring in 1979 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Princeton. He was a life member of Princeton Elks 634, where he was a Past Exalted Ruler. He also worked at Colvin Funeral Home for over 10 years. 

He is survived by his wife Sally of 60 years of Princeton; son Steve (Trish) Hart of Bardstown, KY; daughter Nancy (Darrell “Cooksey”) Bennett of Henderson, KY; brother William “Bill” Hart of Princeton; 3 grandchildren Jessica Lynn (Dewayne) Thomas, Robert Joseph Hart, & Josh (Amy) Bennett; and 5 great grandchildren Logan & Owen Thomas, Madelyn Bennett, Jaxson Bennett & Dru Lovell. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev. Michael Evancheck. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by Retired Military Veterans.
