Louise R. Sweppy, 85, of Vincennes, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born March 14, 1929 in Terre Haute to Herman and Opal (Kennedy) Beckman.

She had graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute. She had lived in Vincennes since 2006, before that in Princeton since 1952. Louise was a homemaker and worked hard on their family farm helping her former husband, Harold D. Sweppy, who preceded her in death in 1995. She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and former member of Eastern Star, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the Lady Elks. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

She is survived by her son Chuck Sweppy of Louisville; two daughters Donna (Mike) Satkamp of Princeton and Karen (Doug) Driskill of Decker; seven grandchildren Michelle Tindle, Kimberly Satkamp, Michael Satkamp Jr., Erika Hillyard, Douglas Driskill Jr., Jesse Driskill, and Chuck Driskill; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Loretta Kerstein; two brothers, Herman Beckman and Richard Beckman.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Jim Clark and Rev. Cheryl Garbe officiating. Burial will be in the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. on Friday at the Colvin Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the Bridgeport Nursing Home, Good Samaritan Hospital and the Good Samaritan Hospice for the loving care they gave to their mother.
