Joseph A. Atchison, 83, passed away on January 8, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

He was born on April 27, 1931 to the late Benjamin and Ethyl (Weese) Atchison in Round Spring, Missouri. He was one of thirteen children.

Joe served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for Inland Container before retiring after 39 years. He attended Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton, Indiana.

He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine (Leonberger) Atchison of Fort Branch, IN, sons Dave (Anita) Atchison of Glenn Carbon, IL, Steve (Lisa) Atchison of Indianapolis, IN, Stan (Linda) Atchison of Owensville, IN, brother Earl Atchison of Stuart, FL, sister Jewel (Gay) Henson of St. Peters, MO, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services for Joe will be on Monday January 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN. Military graveside services will be performed by VFW post 2714 in Fort Branch, IN.

Visitation will be Sunday January 11,2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
