Wilburn Junior “JR” Clevenger, 80, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

He was born on Jan. 21, 1935 in Blount County, Alabama son of Wilburn D. and Annie R. (Elliott) Clevenger.

Junior was a retired vault setter for Wilbert Vault Company and owned and operated along with his wife KJ's Pizza. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Owensville. He enjoyed farming, gardening and was an avid hunter.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kay L. (DeTar); children, Benny (Donna), Brian (Karen), Barton (Sherri), Barry (Lori), Brenton (Susie) Clevenger, Jennifer (Jon) Gaines; 9 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren 1 step-great-grandchild; 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Myrtle (David) Beloat, Sue (Don) Crabtree; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Della Mae, J.C., Herman Clevenger and Virginia Mulvaney.

Services will be held on Thurs. Jan. 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Rev. Jon Gaines, Pastors Bart Newton and John Paul officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wed. at the funeral home.
