After a battle with cancer, Karla Janine Harmon Davis passed away, in her home, early Wednesday morning (21 Jan 2015) at the age of 61.
Karla leaves behind her daughter, Janine (Joe) Anthis, four Grandsons, Alex Anthis,
Hayden Anthis, Jacob (Rachael) Anthis
and Wyatt Anthis and a Great Granddaughter, Ramsey Anthis all of Patoka. She is also survived by her Mother,
Martha Henne Harmon of Fairfield, California, three
sisters, Lorelei (Bill) Carr of Oroville, California,
Lynne (John) McMinn of Vacaville, California, and Jill (Andy) Cortez of
Mechanicsville, Virginia. She also has four nephews, five nieces, eleven great
nieces and nephews and one great - great niece.
Karla was born on August 4, 1953, to Robert Nelson
Harmon and Martha Joyce Henne Harmon in Sacramento
California. She attended school in California until her junior year when she
gave birth to her only child, daughter, Janine Elyce.
At the age of 32, Karla and Janine relocated to Princeton Indiana where she earned
her GED, attended Vincennes University and graduated with a Summa Cum Laude in
Paralegal studies. A few years later, she went to work at Spring Leaf
Financial, formerly known as American General Financial Services. Karla was
employed with Spring Leaf for 15 years as a Senior Paralegal where she was well
respected and loved.
Karla was known for her sense of humor, her beauty,
her love of fashion and the way she loved life and especially loved her family.
Karla took pride in her home and especially enjoyed
making her outdoor living space a beautiful place to be. She loved swimming,
sun bathing, hanging out in the pool with her grandsons and having
unforgettable pool parties with her girlfriends. Karla enjoyed working out,
playing guitar and loved to sing. One of her passions was helping and donating
to the Evansville Rescue Mission.
Karla was preceded in death by her father, Robert N.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 24th from 4-8pm. The funeral will be held Sunday, January 25th at 12:30 pm at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton Indiana. Graveside service will follow the funeral at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, Indiana, with Pastor Jeff Pinney and Andrew Cortez officiating.
