Betty Joan Carlisle 72, of Oakland City entered rest on Thursday at her home.

She was born on July 17, 1942 in Velpen, IN to William and Iva Chappell.

Preceded in death by her parents William and Iva Chappell and two brothers, Dewayne and Bill Chappell and husband Patrick Allen Carlisle on Nov. 27, 2014.

Betty was a licensed barber and also owned and operated the Stendal and Velpen stores for several years.

Survived by Daughters: Patti (Ron) Johnson of Owensville, IN Pamela (Brent) Mabrey of Ft. Branch, IN Son: Perry (Paula) Carlisle of Oakland City, IN; Grandchildren: Janelle Wasson, Vanessa & Blake Johnson, Clint & Alec Taylor, Donald, Patrick, & Cheyanna Carlisle. Great-Grandchildren: Bralynn & Ellie Wasson, Zackary Carlisle Cameryn Carlisle; Sister: Nancy (Myreon) Krohn of Oakland City, IN.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday March 14, 2015 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Cup Creek Cemetery near Stendal IN. Rev. Ron Marsh will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and from 8:00 A.M until services.
