Carolyn Jean Wagner age 62 of Champaign, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Carle Hospital located in Urbana, IL.

She was born on December 7, 1952 in Princeton, IN to Arvel W. & Norma Jean (Hadfield) Wagner.

Carolyn was the assistant to the convention director of the National Council of the teachers of English (NCTTE) for 44 years, starting when she was only 18 years old. She attended Harrison High school in Evansville until moving to Champaign, IL graduating in 1970. Carolyn was an avid bowler and loved the Champaign, IL area.

Carolyn is survived by her mother and step father, Norma Jean (Elmer “Leather”) LeGrange of Fort Branch, IN and a stepbrother, Rick (Patty) LeGrange and their daughter Kelsey of Evansville, IN.

She was preceded in death by grandparents; Vernon and Genevieve Hadfield and George and Edith Wagner. Also preceding is father, Arvel W. Wagner and most recently sister, Connie Jo Gardner.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 9, 2015 at 12:00 Noon C.S.T. at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, IN 47670, with Rev. Jarmin Perkins officiating. Internment will take place in Providence Cemetery located just south of Francisco.
