Clara K. McFetridge 85, of Francisco, IN, passed away April 25, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, IN.

She was born January 31, 1930 in Chicago. IL to George and Myrtle (Hale) Dixon, both of which preceded while Clara was still a young girl.

Clara was then raised by her aunt and uncle, James and Lois (Thompson) Hale, both of which have also preceded.

Clara was a lifelong Gibson county area resident and attended the Living Word Fellowship Church. In 1955, she was married to Harold P. McFetridge who preceded in 1994.

She worked in the housekeeping dept at Oakland City University but was probably best known from her days of working in the kitchen at the Francisco Elementary School. She loved to cook and also loved children. She showed it through fixing meals for the kids at the school. She was also known to cook Christmas cookies during the holiday season and distribute them to those in the community struggling financially at the time. Clara also loved to sew and crochet.

Clara is survived by sons; James (Donna) Burke of Crab Orchard, KY, David (Janice) McFetridge of Francisco, IN, and Michael (Penny) McFetridge of Manitowoc, WI along with daughter, Janet Adams of New Palestine, IN.
Other survivors include son in law, Edwin Memmer of Francisco, IN. 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, special aunt and uncle, daughter Cassie Memmer, son in law Jerry Adams. She is also preceded by brothers; William, Harold and Wallace sister, Irene Schleter and grandsons, James William Burke and Jeffrey Adams.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 with Pastor Lloyd Jones officiating, at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670 with internment to take place in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Francisco, IN.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M.
