Robert "Bob" Riddle, 90, of Oakland City passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.

Bob was born on May 14, 1924 in Oakland City, IN to Kenneth and Myrl (Cooper) Riddle.

He was a United States Navy Veteran who served in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a coal miner and retired from Old Ben Coal Company. He was a member of the VFW Post 1147, the Oakland City American Legion Post 256, Oakland City Masonic Lodge No. 467 F&AM and the UMWA. He was also a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oakland City. 

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen (Kim) VanMeter of Oakland City; 4 grandchildren, Chad (Katie) VanMeter, Ryan (Cassey) VanMeter, Brooke Riddle and Zacharie Riddle; 4 great grandchildren, Kaden and Kinze VanMeter and Ali and Eli VanMeter; and a sister, Imogene Gieselman of Oakland City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine L. Riddle on April 20, 2001; and his son, David R. Riddle in December of 2002. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Dr. Douglas Low. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm on Wednesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday evening.
