Troy Morgan Land 85, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday July 23, 2015 in Princeton, IN.

Troy was born on April 18, 1930 in Koshkonong, MO to Curtis and Beatrice (Dawson) Land, both of which precede.

He attended grade school in Hayti, MO eventually moving to the Flint, MI and graduating from Flint Central High School. Troy then attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo receiving his Bachelors of Business Administration. He began his graduate work at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL and at the General Motors Institute of Flint MI, completing his graduate studies at the University of Evansville, Evansville, IN.

Troy served in the U.S. Army from September of 1948 until June 1952 where he was honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant.

In October of 1969, Troy moved to Princeton, IN and on October 11, 1975, in Mt. Carmel, IL, he married his wife of 32 years, Virginia Reed who preceded August 2, 2007.

Troy was a plant accountant with Siemens (Potter & Brumfield) Manufacturing retiring to own and operate, with Virginia, the Ft. Branch H&R Block Tax service.
Troy loved and served the Princeton area in many capacities. He was a member of the Gibson County Area Chamber of Commerce and was a two time past president of the Eagles post #361. He was also a member of the American Legion post#25 and also the VFW post #1147 serving several years with their funeral detail. Troy also served as the past president of the Princeton Kiwanis club, was a member of the Princeton Salvation Army Advisory Board, a 25 year member of the Evansville SCORE(small business counselors) and was a board member of the Gibson County Community Foundation.
Troy also served on the board of the Princeton Council on Aging and the Southwest Indiana Council on Aging (SWIRCA) of Evansville.
He was a member of Princeton First General Baptist Church for many years. He also enjoyed the company of his breakfast buddies in the mornings.

Troy is survived by son, Kelley (Stephani) Land of Berryton, KS, daughters; Lisa Marie Land of Flint, MI and Leslie Ann (Steven) Raleigh of Davison MI. Other survivors include brother, Curtis D. Land of Bradenton, FL and grandchildren; Ross Edwards, Jessica Conti, Theresa Watkins, Christopher Land, Timothy Land, Rebecca Meseraull, Jack Hunt, Jason Kolb and Jacinda Margrave .

Special thanks to Jack Hunt who was especially helpful to Virginia and Troy in their later years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Virginia and brother Jack.

Funeral arrangements will be at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at the First General Baptist Church, 2101 E. Broadway St., Princeton, IN 47670 with Pastor Brad Keenan officiating. Internment will take place in Maple Hill cemetery in Princeton with Retired Veterans Funeral Detail performing military honors.

Visitation will be on Tuesday July 28, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the First General Baptist Church.

The family has entrusted Doyle Funeral Home with arrangements.
