Barry Lee Meadows, 62, of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home.

He was born October 22, 1952 in Princeton to the late Paul and Loretta (Tipton) Meadows.

Barry was a proud member of American Legion Post 51, and served on the funeral detail for the veterans. He was manager of Charlie’s Short Stop vehicle repair in Oakland City and prior to that he worked for many years with his dad and brother at Meadow’s Sunoco in Princeton. Barry loved and was loved by his family, and by everyone who passed his way, he never knew a stranger. He loved God. 

Barry is survived by one daughter, Amanda (Scott) Miskell; two sons, Barry (Stephanie) Meadows Jr. and Mathew (Dava) Meadows; seven grandchildren, Dillon Hoke, Drake Miskell, Lily Meadows, Jasmine Meadows, Gracie Meadows, Eric Meadows and Nicholas Meadows; three brothers, Rev. Larry Meadows of Princeton, Kerry Meadows of Spurgeon and Gary (Jan) Meadows of Owensville; five sisters, Cheri (Bob) Pendleton of Princeton, Terry Meadows of Princeton, Mary (David) Key of Joliet, IL, Julie Meadows (Joe) of Evansville and Amy (Chris) Fugate of Princeton; one uncle, Eugene Phillips of Francisco; two aunts, Joy Ott of Princeton and Nancy Strickland of Oakland City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita (Folsom) Meadows; and a sister, Gerry Susan (Meadows) Caudill. 

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Larry Meadows officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
