Peter B. Dunkel, 61, of Fort Branch, IN passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN on October 31, 2015.

He was born in Princeton, IN to George and Juanita (Wirth) Dunkel on January 19, 1954.

Pete married his loving wife Lisa (Cleveland) Dunkel on February 8, 1986. They had been married almost 30 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his 3 sons Andrew, Matthew, and Timothy of Fort Branch, IN, one brother Dave Dunkel of Haubstadt, IN, 3 sisters Diane Claymeier of Cape Girardeau, MO, Joyce Trible of Evansville, IN, and Amy Miley of Oakland City, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

Pete worked as a Switchman for CSX Railroad for 37 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN and the United Transportation Union. He coached all three of his sons from T-Ball to Babe Ruth for a total of 15 years. He shared his love with his wife, sons, family, friends, and several nieces and nephews. Pete was loved and looked up to by many who consider him a father figure. He was fortunate to have two honorary grandkids, Malorie and Mason Scheller.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church with visitation prior to service from 9:30 AM until service time. Visitation will be at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN on Monday November 2, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
