William A. “Tony” Fahrner Jr, 72, of Oakland City passed away on Monday October 19, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

Tony was born on January 23, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa to William and Vietta Mae (Carel) Fahrner.

He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a truck driver for 40 years and worked 8 years for Liberty Transport out of Burlington, Iowa and was a member of the VFW. He graduated from O.C.U. in 2002 with and Associate Degree in Computer Networking. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Caroline (Lasley) Fahrner of Oakland City; 3 children, William A. (Sandra) Fahrner III of Oakland City, Randy (Elizabeth) Lasley of Oatsville and Victoria Linn (John) Mauck of Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; and 2 grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Lloyd Jones. Burial will be at the Providence Cemetery in Francisco. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time on Saturday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home. Military graveside services will be conducted by Oakland City American Legion.
