Patricia A. (Houchin) Mathew, 85, of Haubstadt went to be with her Lord Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at Deaconess VNA Hospice Center in Evansville.

She was born Nov. 21, 1929 in Fort Branch daughter of Arvil and Florence Houchin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years, Harold Mathew; sister, Virginia Douglas; brother, Bob Houchin.

She was a loving, supportive wife, mother and grandmother who worked tirelessly beside her husband on the farm. They enjoyed collectibles and antique cars. Pat also enjoyed her ceramic shop and the ladies who came. She was a member of the Cynthiana United Methodist Church for 50 years where she taught children in Sunday School for 30 years. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, gift of hospitality and good cooking.

Survivors include her daughter, Tamara Mathew, son, Brent (Tomi) Mathew; grandson, Austin Blaine Mathew;

Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville, with Bob Douglas and Rev. Gordon Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Blythe Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service at the funeral home.
