Virginia Lois (Mowrer) Thompson, 97, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 at River Oaks Health campus in Princeton.

She was born Aug. 7, 1918 in Gibson County daughter of Vesper Julius and Mary Estella (Boman) Mowrer.

Virginia graduated from Owensville High school class of 1936 was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.

Survivors included her children, Eugene L. Thompson, Jr. and Linda L. (Thompson) Johnson (Charles Freudenburg); 5 grandchildren, Gloria R. (Thompson) Galletta (Tony), Glen A. (Debbie) Thompson, Greg A. (Tammy) Thompson, Pamela K. (Johnson) Combs (Buddy), Mona L. (Johnson) O'Connor (Dave); 11 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Violet Jean (Mowrer) Simpson; sister-in-law, Jane Mowrer; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eugene L. Thompson, Sr.; brothers, Paul Warren, Charles Kenneth and Philip Wayne Mowrer; great-grandson, Cody Combs in 1998.

Services will be held on Saturday Oct. 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral home in Owensville. Burial will be in the Benson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
