Stephen Wayne Grubb, Sr., lifetime resident of Oakland City, left us on January 28, 2016.

Stephen was born July 10, 1944, to Bonnie Agnes (Jones) Grubb and William Carr Grubb of Oakland City, both of whom preceded him in death, as did two older sisters, Sandra Russell and Patty Cook.

Surviving him are his wife of 45 years Susan, his children Amanda, Joseph and Steve as well as three younger sisters and one brother.

Stephen served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, returning in 1967, to work for United States Steel, until their closure. Since he could fix anything from plumbing and air conditioners to lawn mowers and fence chargers, he opened his own business until his retirement in 2009.

“Steve” loved to fish and hunt with his best friend, Tom Blythe and like everything else, he was very good at it. He will be sorely missed by family, friends and anyone who knew him.

The family has entrusted the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home of Oakland City for assistance.

At this time there will not be any visitation or services. At a future date, there will be a celebration of his life.
